ArtXX AG, the Swiss subsidiary of Weng Fine Art AG, is launching one of the most spectacular editions of the year on their website today: Jeff Koons' iconic "Balloon Dog (Blue)". The sculpture, made of fine French porcelain and covered with a blue metal coating, is an edition of only 799 pieces and, at about 40 × 48 × 15.8 cm, is the largest format in this material by the world-renowned artist.

This edition is a scaled-down version of the unique large-scale sculpture (307 x 360 cm) created in the late 1990s, which is now on display at The Broad museum in Los Angeles. The sister copy, in orange, fetched $58.4 million at an auction in New York in 2013, which at the time was a record auction price for a work by a living artist.

As Jeff Koons’ "Diamond (Red)" presented last year, ArtXX AG offers the "Balloon Dog (Blue)" worldwide under its brand ‘Weng Contemporary”. It is offered in a box specially designed by the artist. Along with the artwork, buyers will soon be able to purchase a blockchain-based "utility token" that will allow them to trade the work on digital asset platforms.
